introduces the student to computer aided design and drafting using the latest
release of AutoCAD. The fundamental concepts, commands, and strategies for
creating, plotting, and editing 2D drawings are covered

AutoCAD menus and the graphical user interface including screen menus,
pulldown menus, and function keys.

General AutoCAD terminology

File management with the file utility menu

Drawing setup procedures

Limits, layers, colors, and line types

Coordinate entry methods

All basic 2D drawing commands including lines, arcs, circles, the
ellipse, polylines, etc

Crosshatching

Introduction to blocks and block manipulations

Drawing aids including grid, snap, and ortho

Object snaps and their uses

Running object snaps

Drawing editor and all edit commands including copy, move, mirror,

This course
is for individuals who need to learn all of the basic two-dimensional AutoCAD
commands and concepts, from starting a drawing to plotting a complete
dimensioned drawing.
Prerequisites
A basic
understanding of drafting techniques. Computer experience is not necessary but
