The Microsoft® Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE) credential is the premier certification for professionals who analyze the business requirements and design and implement the infrastructure for business solutions based on the Microsoft Windows® 2000 platform and Microsoft server software. How to become a Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer

To become a Microsoft Windows 2000 Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE), you must pass five core and two elective computer-based certification exams from Microsoft. If you are already certified as an MCSE for NT 4, you can substitute an accelerated exam for four of the five core exams.
